Kochi Akame Fishing

Chase the Legendary Akame
Experience one of Japan's most unique and challenging fishing adventures: targeting Akame, one of Japan's legendary freshwater and brackish-water predators.
Akame is a highly prized fish found in southern Japan, and Kochi is one of the most famous destinations for anglers hoping to encounter this incredible species.
With its powerful body, striking appearance, and reputation as an elusive predator, catching an Akame is a dream for many anglers around the world.
However, Akame fishing is not easy.
Even with the right location, tackle, and techniques, there is never a guarantee of a catch. That's exactly what makes the challenge so special.

A True Special Course
Akame fishing is very different from a typical guided fishing trip.
It requires careful planning, the right timing, suitable tackle, and a guide who understands the local waters and conditions.
Because of this, advance booking is required.
This is a special course that must be planned in advance rather than booked at short notice. We recommend contacting us as early as possible with your travel dates and preferred fishing style.
We will discuss the conditions, available options, and the best way to approach your trip before confirming your booking.

Shore or Boat Fishing
We offer two different ways to target Akame in Kochi:
Shore Fishing
Experience the traditional Akame fishing style from the shore.
Depending on the conditions, we will select suitable areas and fishing techniques based on the season, tide, weather, and recent fishing conditions.
Shore fishing is ideal for anglers who want to experience the atmosphere of Kochi's rivers, estuaries, and surrounding waters while pursuing this legendary fish.
Boat Fishing
For anglers who want to explore more water and access areas that are difficult to reach from shore, boat fishing is also available.
Fishing from a boat allows us to adapt more freely to changing conditions and explore different areas throughout the trip.
The exact fishing method and boat will depend on the season, conditions, and availability.
Price: ASK
Akame fishing is a special course, and the price varies depending on the fishing style, guide, boat, duration, location, and other arrangements.
Both shore fishing and boat fishing are available.

When to Go
Akame can potentially be targeted throughout the year, but seasonal conditions, water temperature, tides, weather, and baitfish activity can have a major influence on the fishing.
For this reason, we do not simply offer a fixed seasonal schedule.
When you contact us, please let us know your travel dates and we will advise you on the best available option for your trip.
Tackle
Akame fishing requires strong and specialized tackle.
If you have your own equipment, please let us know what you normally use.
Rental tackle may be available depending on the fishing style and guide. Please contact us in advance if you need equipment.
Catch & Release
Akame are a highly valued target among Japanese anglers, and responsible handling is extremely important.
We practice careful catch-and-release and ask anglers to handle the fish with care and minimize the time the fish spends out of the water.
Our guides will assist with landing, photography, and safe release.
Who Is This Trip For?
Akame fishing is best suited to anglers who enjoy challenging fishing and are prepared to spend time searching for a single, difficult target.
You do not need to be a professional angler, but previous lure-fishing experience is recommended.
If your goal is simply to catch a lot of fish, this may not be the right trip.
If your goal is to challenge one of Japan's legendary fish, however, this could become one of the most memorable fishing experiences of your life.
